How to Stick to Your Goals

It’s crazy to think we nearly at the end of the FY22 financial year! Where has the time gone? And we can admit around this time it is sometimes easy to get into a slump and forget about all those goals we set for ourselves way back at the beginning of this financial year. Sticking to your goals can be hard and a struggle at times, but it doesn’t have to be!

There are ways you can achieve them and here are our six tips for success.

  1. Visualise yourself doing it: if you can’t even see yourself achieving these goals in your mind, how do you expect yourself to execute them in real life? By visualising your goals, you can imagine and feel your success, which will make you more motivated to make it a reality

  2. Create accountability: once you have set your goal or list of goals, go tell them to a family member, friend or anyone who will hold you accountable to them. By making someone else known about your goals, it makes you more accountable to do them and adds pressure in a positive way for you to want to achieve them and not let anyone down

  3. Surround yourself with success & support: it’s no secret that if you surround yourself with failure and negativity, that is what you will excerpt in life as well. By surrounding yourself with success and a great support system, you will have more motivation and a positive view on achieving your goals

  4. Know you can do it: there’s no point setting a goal if you don’t believe in yourself that you can achieve it. Know you can do it and you will!

  5. Set realistic goals: this tip is probably the most common and well-known one out there, but yet we always seem to forget it. Sure, it is great to dream big, but not too big where the goal isn’t realistic or achievable at all. By doing this, you are just setting yourself up for disappointment and failure

  6. Give yourself a day off: it is important to remember that everyone has off-days and that you shouldn’t let them affect you. It’s completely fine to have days where you don’t work towards your goals and you take a break, because you deserve it! Just take a step back, relax and re-group yourself for the next day ahead.
